In 2016, the Onondaga County Health Department began work with CENTRO to create policy, environmental, and practice changes to improve the health of CENTRO’s 465 employees, many of whom are Syracuse residents. Using results from an employee survey of healthy worksite preferences, OCHD created an outdoor walking trail, changed the vending machine options, offered onsite Farm Fresh Mobile Markets, and educated employees about healthy eating.
